State Forestry – Ardino is situated in Western part of the Eastern Rhodopes, completely in Arda river basin region. The total area of woodland fond is 20 961 hektares, devided into State forest fond - 20 647 hektares /or 97%/ and 630 hektares /or 3%/ not state forest. About 12 096 hektares /or 70.8%/ in the region of the Forestry are coniferous forests; decideous forests are 4 966.2 hektares /or 29.1%/. The coniferious forests are mainly presented by white and black pine, but the broad-leaved forests are predominated by beech-trees. The average annual use of tumber is 27 900 m3. 45.5 hektares are put under timber
